Investing.com – Portugal stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Consumer Services and Telecoms sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Lisbon, the PSI rose 0.73%.

The best performers of the session on the PSI were Altri SGPS SA (ELI:ALSS), which rose 1.88% or 0.08 points to trade at 4.35 at the close. Meanwhile, Semapa (ELI:SEM) added 1.68% or 0.32 points to end at 19.40 and Jeronimo Martins SGPS SA (ELI:JMT) was up 1.64% or 0.28 points to 17.40 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were CTT Correios de Portugal SA (ELI:CTT), which fell 2.25% or 0.13 points to trade at 5.42 at the close. Teixeira Duarte (ELI:TDSA) unchanged 0.34% or 0.00 points to end at 0.45 and Ibersol SGPS (ELI:IBS) was 0.00% or 0.00 points to 9.94.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 17 to 5 and 5 ended unchanged.

Shares in CTT Correios de Portugal SA (ELI:CTT) fell to 52-week lows; falling 2.25% or 0.13 to 5.42.

Brent oil for December delivery was down 0.93% or 0.99 to $105.66 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 0.12% or 0.11 to hit $93.85 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.25% or 10.34 to trade at $4,180.26 a troy ounce.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.34% to 1.12, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.05% to 0.85.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.33% at 102.03.
