Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Plastic, Glass and Chemical sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted rose 0.91%.

The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Brim Biotechnology Inc (TW:6885), which rose 10.00% or 2.90 points to trade at 31.90 at the close. Meanwhile, TA-I Technology Co Ltd (TW:2478) added 10.00% or 12.50 points to end at 137.50 and Chia Ta World Co Ltd (TW:2033) was up 10.00% or 4.50 points to 49.50 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Spirox Corp (TW:3055), which fell 9.94% or 18.00 points to trade at 163.00 at the close. Cosmo Electronics Corp (TW:2466) declined 9.92% or 23.50 points to end at 213.50 and Genius Electronic Optical Co Ltd (TW:3406) was down 9.36% or 110.00 points to 1,065.00.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 758 to 250 and 113 ended unchanged.

Crude oil for November delivery was up 0.63% or 0.59 to $94.73 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 0.64% or 0.68 to hit $106.37 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.18% or 7.63 to trade at $4,169.67 a troy ounce.

USD/TWD was up 0.16% to 32.23, while TWD/CNY unchanged 0.05% to 0.21.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.05% at 101.93.
