Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Technology, Healthcare and Construction & Materials sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX lost 0.54%.

The best performers of the session on the AEX were DSM Firmenich AG (AS:DSFIR), which rose 4.00% or 3.99 points to trade at 103.65 at the close. Meanwhile, Universal Music Group NV (AS:UMG) added 3.02% or 0.45 points to end at 15.36 and IMCD NV (AS:IMCD) was up 2.89% or 2.90 points to 103.25 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were ASM International NV (AS:ASMI), which fell 6.30% or 55.20 points to trade at 821.20 at the close. ASML Holding NV (AS:ASML) declined 4.20% or 66.20 points to end at 1,509.60 and BE Semiconductor Industries NV (AS:BESI) was down 1.77% or 3.10 points to 172.50.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 51 to 43 and 10 ended unchanged.

Shares in DSM Firmenich AG (AS:DSFIR) rose to 52-week highs; rising 4.00% or 3.99 to 103.65. Shares in IMCD NV (AS:IMCD) rose to 52-week highs; up 2.89% or 2.90 to 103.25.

The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was unchanged 0.00% to 21.09.

Crude oil for November delivery was up 0.12% or 0.11 to $93.85 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 0.95% or 1.01 to hit $105.64 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.28% or 11.68 to trade at $4,178.92 a troy ounce.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.34% to 1.12, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.05% to 0.85.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.33% at 102.04.
