Investing.com -- HCL Technologies stock surged 5.2% to ₹1,286 on Tuesday after the company delivered a standout set of Q2 FY27 results the previous evening that beat expectations across several key metrics.

New deal bookings came in at $3.3 billion, up 27% year-on-year, taking first-half bookings to a record high, while net profit jumped 11% sequentially to ₹5,132 crore, helped by an increased share of higher-margin advanced AI.

The company also raised its full-year revenue growth guidance and declared an interim dividend of ₹12 per equity share for FY26-27, with a record date of October 16, 2026.

The standout figure from the results was the AI business. Advanced AI revenue reached $219 million, up 28.4% sequentially and 78% year-on-year, while EBIT margin improved to 18.2%, up 131 basis points from the prior quarter. Higher-margin AI services contributed 32 basis points to sequential EBIT margin expansion, with management indicating that advanced AI services margins are expected to be 7–10 percentage points above traditional services.

Separately, HCLTech also announced a partnership with Anthropic to use Claude to accelerate enterprise adoption of agentic AI, adding further momentum to the AI narrative.

The AI angle-- which was also seen with HCL peer TCS clocking strong AI-driven earnings last week-- helped spur bets that India’s IT giants will be able to offset AI-driven disruptions in their traditional businesses by offering more services around the fast-growing technology.

HCL rose past broader weakness in Asian tech stocks on Tuesday, and also helped spur a 0.8% jump in the Nifty 50.
